Talk of electric two-wheelers in India and the first thing that comes to mind is a bunch of low-powered scooters with a limited range. However, in recent times, manufacturers have been rather bold in launching some powerful electric scooters and motorcycles in India. These scooters and motorcycles are aimed squarely at young buyers looking at something sporty, while also believing in saving the environment. We shortlist four electric bikes that give you the best convenience of EV mobility.
1) Ather 450X: ₹ 1.35 lakh
The Ather 450X is powered by a 3.3kW/6kW continuous/peak motor that makes 26Nm of torque, pushing the scooter to a top speed of 80kph, while also managing the 0-40kph sprint in 3.3 seconds. The scooter’s motor has a peak output of 5.4kW and 22Nm of torque. You can access the maximum amount of performance if you opt for the Pro subscription. It can reach a range of 75kms, and you can get quick acceleration in the scooter’s Warp riding mode. The Ather 450X weighs 108kgs and manages a range of 70kms in Ride mode. The scooter features a 7.0-inch display that is powered by a 1.3Ghz Snapdragon processor. In terms of design, the Ather 450X looks very radical and sleek with its angular surfaces and sharp lines.
2) TVS iQube: ₹ 1.31 lakh
It can sprint from 0-40kph in 4.2 seconds and can cover a range of 75kms. It features regenerative braking and two riding modes: Eco and Power. And the battery cannot be removed. It also features a TFT instrument cluster and the TVS iQube app. You can access features like last park location, incoming call alerts/SMS alerts, geo-fencing, navigation assist, and remote battery charge status. The iQube looks rather cute with its smooth surfaces, soft lines, and tidy detailing. It may not look as sporty as an Ather 450X, but it definitely looks very contemporary with LED DRLs and an LED tail lamp.
3) Revolt RV 400: ₹ 1.29 lakh
The Revolt RV 400 is powered by a 3kW frame-mounted motor that produces 50Nm of torque while a 3.24kW lithium-ion battery allows the bike to cover a range of 156kms. It comes with a regular 15A plug with a charging cable that is linked directly to the battery of the bike, meaning it can be charged at home too. It features a bolt-on subframe, disc brakes, a monoshock-absorber, and USD forks up-front. With the help of the Revolt mobile app, you can check trip history, start the motor and track the location of the bike, while the artificial intelligence function tracks your riding pattern. This bike is based on the Chinese Super Soco TC Max. Features include the keyless-start function and an instrument display.
4) Ultraviolette F77: ₹ 300000
The F77 is powered by a 25kW motor that makes 33bhp and 90Nm of torque, with power being sent to the rear wheel through an X-ring chain drive. It can reach a top speed of 147kph and can sprint from 0-100kph in 7.5 seconds. It also features three riding modes: Eco, Pro, and Insane. Among other features, the bike also gets a set of high-density lithium-ion battery packs that are lighter than conventional batteries. On a single charge, this bike can cover a range of 130-150kms, while the fast charger ensures it is topped up in just one-and-a-half hours. Customers are also provided with a 3kW portable power bank. It gets USD forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. It also features connected tech that can be accessed through an iOS or Android smartphone app.
